Enhancing the Quality of Life
PROJECTS & PROGRAMS
Gateway Sign
Thanks to the work of wonderful volunteers, the beautiful mosaic gateway sign has been installed at our new Unity Corner parklet at Perrysville Ave. and Federal St.! This project was done by students at The Pittsburgh Project under guidance from artist Linda Wallen. Other partners: Fineview Citizens Council and Allegheny City Society.

A Ribbon Cutting was held on August 27, 2017. See Press Release for more information!
Corner of Hope
The Corner of Hope is a newly renovated parklet with an outdoor art installation featuring nine Negro League-themed murals. The 20-year-old murals were restored by students at The Pittsburgh Project with their teacher, Sandy Kessler Kaminski, a professional artist. To prepare for the project, the students researched the Negro League players. The creation of the murals was supported by O akglade Realty.

PIRATES HONORS STUDENTS
The students and staff at The Pittsburgh Project were recently honored at African Heritage Night at the Pittsburgh Pirates game at PNC Park.
Check out the murals for yourself at Wilson Ave. and Burgess St.
